In a major move against illicit activities. Raigarh Police has launched a major crackdown against illicit liquor in the district under ‘Operation Aaghat’. Acting under the directives of Senior Superintendent of Police Shashi Mohan Singh, police teams from Chakradharnagar, Pusaur, and Joby conducted raids at various locations on August 30, 2026, uncovering three cases involving illegal liquor. During the operation, the police seized a total of over 47.4 liters of illicit liquor from the accused. Additionally, two motorcycles used for the transportation and sale of the liquor, along with the proceeds from the sales, were confiscated. Action has been taken against the accused in all cases under the Excise Act.
